Because I haven't written one for a while

Calling up the cue card as soon as you're in town
You're letting nobody else down except yourself when you don't try.

Two steps through the church
The first pillar that you see
That isn't where you ought to be
That isn't where you want to be

As they pass the blame you lap it up
They hope you'll never have enough of that.

Gluey mess with hands both tucked away
White flags eat up half your day

I hope you'll some day have enough of that.

Save Now
(Eight Haiku Verses, One Unfortunate Casualty)

You are the oldest
Stockbroker in the city
Living off rice cakes

Your dream was bottled
You caught the marketplace blues
She caught paperwork

The day you closed down
She struggled to buy children
Everything was lunch

Half a minute late
Steam from her broken kettle
Compels a divorce

Delegalising
Unsatisfactorily
Irretrievable

Striptease after work
Slowly turning inside out
Drive home car mishap

Hospital beauty
Your chatting up failing now
Embarrassing death

Back in the workplace
New roles new woman for new
Oldest stockbroker
